The recent trend in quilting seems to be including embroidered pieces as the center of the quilt blocks.

Meh. It's just not my thing... at all.
That's not to say there's no place for it in quilting. Obviously, there are plenty of people who like it and enjoy creating these piece. I, personally, just don't get it. It's not the first time that the quilting trends have not appealed to me and it won't be the last. Typically, I enjoy more traditional patterns and colors, but not exclusively. I LOVE Kate Spain and she's totally not traditional.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
I would like actual embroidery, like lovely embroidered flowers or some such. I really don't like the 2 middle, but that's mostly b/c I'm not into that weird country-esque minimalism. I'm digging Kate Spain, tho, for sho.
